Michele Guidarini’s mixed media works are urban, satirical and aggressive with bits of dark comedy. Twisted faces, hand drawn type, pop culture icons and religious symbols form a cacophony of imagery about the human experience: love, excitement, tragedy, death, the coldness of city life and the darkness of human nature — all done in an ironic tone. Our absolute favorite is NO FUN, about the miscellaneous voices and clashing noises that engulfs us, turbulent and amplified! We think it’s brave to confront the emotional volatility, bewilderment and awkwardness in all of us. This electrifying medley will undoubtedly help gather your will to face life’s mishaps and inspire you to challenge the status quo.
Michele’s works are made with a mix of materials: pens, spray paints, ink, Magic Markers and collage. These graphical compositions will make fantastic prints! Michele was born in 1981 and graduated from the Accademia di Belle Arti in Florence. Rolling Stone Magazine introduced him as one of the greatest Italian young talents. In Italy he has exhibited in Milan, Rome, Florence, Perugia, Salerno, Carrara, Grosseto and worldwide in Paris, Hong Kong (with us!), Vancouver and Berlin.
