A dreamy interlude: New art by Paolo Pibi

There’s a place where dreams come from. New art by Paolo Pibi is like a meditative dialogue, a quiet interlude for yourself. We love the gentle river and spellbinding neon, a peculiar inner wilderness. The polished floating steps feel so intuitive and inviting they makes us want to expand their beauty in every direction. The luminous landscapes feel familiar because we all have a compartment in our minds reserved for magical places like these. Read more about Paolo Pibi’s work here here.

More than Surreal.

The word surreal has become one of the most recycled, overused (and misused) words. As 20th century’s most famous art movement, Surrealism has evolved from a political and social critique of the bourgeoisie to a roving deep into the altered mind. These artworks put us into a trance, at the same time they address our long-standing frustrations in everyday life, they answer to today’s science, environment and humanity.

A voyage into the mind, bizarre and whimsical worlds by Andy Calabozo

Andy Calabozo creates images that are roller coaster rides with layers of complex characters and twists and turns about life’s absurdities. Bizarre and whimsical is the best kind of cute! The Deep is a fascinating metaphor for the deepest state of consciousness: a voyage to an unknown basin floor with otherworldly coral, funky fauna, and other wiggly creatures endemic to an extraordinarily busy mind. The science of a fetish is a parody and summary of our vices, adorable and grotesque at the same time. Andy’s work reminds us that life is chaotic, but instead of fretting it and calculating each statistic, it’s important to see the possibilities (and funny faces) in the knots, and to experience all the thrills of a complex, turbulent world.
