Stew reserves the right to change this Privacy Policy at any time. It is the responsibility of the user to review this page periodically and to be aware of any changes. If you continue to use this website after any changes will constitute your: (a) acknowledgement of the modified Policy and (b) agree to abide and be bound by the modified Policy. If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use this website.

When you chose to use our website, we request certain personally identifiable information from you such as name, email, age, and location. We will not share the information you provided about yourself with outside parties without your explicit consent. In the event of this policy change, we will provide you with an opportunity to opt out or prohibit the disclosure of your information to outside parties. We do not sell, trade, or rent your Personal Information to others.

Stew may use information in your profile without identifying you as an individual to third parties in order to provide better services to you. We provide the information to trusted partners who work on behalf of or with Stew under confidentiality agreements. These companies may use your Personal Information to help Stew communicate with you about offers from us and our marketing partners. However, these companies do not have any independent right to share this information. We provide Non-Personal Information to interested third-parties for purposes of understanding the usage patterns for certain content, services, advertisements, promotions, and/or functionality on the Website. We use both your Personal Information and certain Non-Personal Information (see below) to improve the quality and design of the Website and to create new features, promotions, functionality, and services by storing, tracking, and analyzing User preferences and trends.

We may use your Personal Information for the purpose of promoting Stew on our sister website Mischmasch — for the sale of affordable original artworks. Mischmasch may contact you for more information about your work and your profile.

We may share Personal Information in response to subpoenas, court orders, or other forms of legal process, or to establish or exercise our legal rights or defend against legal claims. We may share Personal Information if we believe it is necessary in order to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person, violations of Stew’s Terms and Conditions, or as otherwise required by law. We may transmit Personal Information if Stew is acquired by or merged with another company. In this event, Stew will notify active known users if there is a need to change this Privacy Policy based on an acquisition or merger. In the unlikely event of our bankruptcy, insolvency, reorganization, receivership, or assignment for the benefit of creditors, we may not be able to control how your personal information is treated, transferred, or used. Please keep in mind that any personal information, or comments that you voluntarily disclose on the Website, for example on comment pages, becomes publicly available.

To better protect yourself you need to work to protect against unauthorized access to your password and to your computer by signing off once you have finished using a public computer. When you enter sensitive information (such as credit card number) Stew encrypts that information using secure socket layer technology (SSL).

When you enter Stew, we collect your browser type and IP address. This information is gathered for all visitors. In addition, we store certain information from your browser using “cookies”. A cookie is a piece of date stored on the user’s computer tied to information about the user. We use session ID cookies to confirm that users are logged in. These cookies terminate once the user closes the browser. By default, we use a persistent cookie that stores your login ID (but not your password) to make it easier for you to login when you come back to Stew. You can remove or block this cookie using the settings in your browser if you want to disable this feature.

We may share this non-identifiable information with third parties so that they can provide services targeted specifically for our users, but we never link this information with your personally identifiable information except when required by law.

Stew may also use non personal information for the following purposes: products and services provisioning, identification and authentication, services improvement, research, and anonymous reporting. IP addresses are automatically reported by your browser each time you view a web page. Your IP address is stored in our registration databases when you register with Stew. IP addresses may be used for various research purposes.

At this point we don’t advertise on Stew. If in the future we decide to include ads our web advertising partners may set cookies to allow the ad server to recognize your computer each time they send you an online advertisement. In this way, ad servers may compile information about where you, or others who are using your computer, saw their advertisements and determine which ads are clicked on. This information allows an ad network to deliver targeted advertisements that they believe will be of most interest to you. This privacy statement covers the use of cookies by Stew and does not cover the use of cookies by any advertisers.

We may be in communication with you about your account. These communications are essential to our relationship with you and our ability to provide you with quality service.

Stew may send you service-related announcements from time to time like updates and new features. We may also send you emails to notify you of new comments made on your profile or new activity on your posted items etc. You may edit these email options at any time on the Edit Profile page.
